Greeting Songs
Good Morning Songs
(Tune: Sing a Song of Sixpence)
Sing a song of sunshine, be happy every day.
Sing a song of sunshine, you'll chase the clouds away.
Be happy every moment, no matter what you do.
Just sing and sing and sing and sing and let the sun shine through.

"A Good Morning Song"

(Tune: It's A Small World)
Chorus:
It is time for school to start.
We'll do reading, math, and art.
We'll all learn to be so smart.
It is time for school to start.

It is time for school, it is time for fun.
It's a time for learning for everyone.
So sit down, take a seat,
We are in for a treat.
It is time for school to start.

Good Morning
Good morning, Good morning,
Our day's just begun.
I'm glad to see you,
Hello everyone!

Variation:
(Tune: Row, row, row your boat)
Hello, good morning friends!
How are you today?
Let's all try to be a friend
To everyone today.

La-Di
Hey la-di, la-di, la-di
Hey la-di, la-di, la-di-lo
Hey la-di, la-di, la-di
Hey la-di, la-di, la-di-lo
I know a girl (boy) her (his) name is.....
Hey la-di, la-di-lo
Repeat Chorus
Dance - Stand in circle. As children sing chorus interlink arms criss cross around circle. When child's name is called, circle stands in place (clapping) while named child stands in the center. When chorus starts again, child in middle starts dance again by weaving throughout circle - interlinking arms.

Clap Your Hands Together
Clap, clap, clap your hands clap your hands together.
Clap, clap, clap your hands clap your hands together.
Nod nod nod nod nod your head nod your head in time
now nod nod nod nod nod your head and clap your hands together. etc.

Hickety , Pickety bumble Bee
Hickety , Pickety bumble Bee,
who will say their name for me?
Child says name
Teacher says, "Let's all say it, (all repeat name),
Let's all clap it, (all repeat name and clap out the syllables)

Variation:
Hickety Pickety Bumble Bee, Who will say their name for me?"
(Point to a student and they say their first name.) ex: "Susie"
Teacher repeats the name, "Susie... Let's all say it, Susie."
Teacher and class say, "Susie"
Teacher says, "Let's whisper it, Susie. "
Teacher and class whisper, "Susie."
Teacher says, "Lets shout and say it, Susie"
Teacher and class say "Susie" in a loud voice.
Teacher says, "Let's turn off our voices and clap it."
Teacher and class clap twice for the 2 syllables while mouthing  "Susie."
Then begin again with the next student.
" Hickety Pickety Bumblebee, who  else can say their name for me?"

I love the idea of tossing a small stuffed "bumble bee" toy to a  child.

Hello Song
(to the tune of "Are you Sleeping")
Hello (child's name)
Hello (adult's name)
How are you?
How are You?
We are glad to see you.
We are glad to see you.
Wave goodbye.
Wave goodbye.

Smile
I have something in my pocket
It belongs across my face.
I keep it very close to me
In a most convenient place.
You'll never ever guess it
If you guess a long, long while.
So, I'll take it out and put it on
It's a great big happy smile.
Smile everybody smile, smile.

The More We Get Together
The more we get together, together, together
The more we get together, the happier we'll be
Because your friends are my friends
And my friends are your friends
The more we get together, the happier we'll be.

(Child's name) is here today
(child's name) is here today
we all clap together because (child's name) is here
today.
hope that you can use this song

task which, more than anything else, will affect its
successful outcome."
