Magic of Magnets
We know that when an apple drops from a tree, it'd going to fall down to the ground. We know that the
sun will rise every morning and set every evening, because the Earth will keep rotating on it's axis. We
don't think about it often, but the reason for this occurrence - and many others - is force. A force is any
push or pull reaction on an object - any cause that starts something moving, or stops it, or changes the
movement in some way.  Tin cans, metal boxes, paper clips, baking sheets, spoons, magnets of various

use such as bags, cups, or wrappers),

Extended Activity Idea: Make burger buns by cutting Styrofoam into the shape of a bun.  Put into quart
size baggie with paint (I used acrylic but I bet tempura would work and dry faster) Let dry.  For the patty
and chicken nuggets, cut sponges into circles that fit the bun and nugget shapes.  Paint.  For fries, cut
yellow sponges into the right shape.  To make ketchup, use little white cups and fill them with yarn
covered in Elmer's glue.  Use an old blue sun visor and paint an M on the front.  Cheese can be made
out of fun foam and the lettuce we put paint into a bag, smeared it around, cut the sides of the bag off
and let dry.  When dry spray with spray adhesive and stick back together.  Now just cut out your lettuce
leaf shapes.  Visit  McDonalds and they donated boxes, bags, and cups. Print a menu and the children
are having a blast.  Don't forget to find some trays for their meals.
