Store collections in boxes or baskets to be accessible at any time (indoors or outdoors) for children to enhance their dramatic play. R Repair Shop: clipboard, telephone book, pieces of coated wire, measuring tape, rulers, pencils, scrap wood, vice grip, wrench, screwdrivers, hammer, wood, oil can, pliers, safety goggles, plastic hard hats, penlights, aprons, smockes,electrical wire and boxes (to practise threading through holes), broken appliances without cords, nuts and bolts, cut off gloves, boots, telephone, toolbox, workbench or table, posters of mechanics at work, hammer, nails, screws, gears, magnets (for easy tidying), foreman hats, tool belt, lunch pail, pager, drafting blueprints, some type of blocks, signs (construction site, do not enter, do not disturb, etc.) paper bag, safety vests For Added Interest: Mount examples of door lock, light switches, hooks, and doorbell (visit a hardware store for other ideas to practise fine motor skills). Include boxes with bricks painted on them.
