Baby Chicks
Cut the separate little egg cups from a white styrofoam egg carton.  Make jagged edges around the top to resemble a cracked egg.  Glue this to a small square of posterboard.  Glue dried grass, hay, or excelsior around the bottom of the egg to form a nest.  Use either  two yellow cotton balls or two yellow pom-poms to form a chick.  Glue one of top of the other inside the egg to form the chicks body and head.  Cut a tiny diamond from orange felt and fold in half.  Put a string of hot glue on the fold and stick on the chicks face.  Glue on wiggly eyes.

Musical Easter Eggs
Cut out large egg shapes from colored paper. Laminate them and cut
them out. Place them on the floor. It is best for younger children
to have more eggs  than children. Play music and have the children
walk around the room. When the music stops each child needs to find
an egg to stand on.

Edible Birds Nest
Chow mien noodles
Chocolate chips or brick chocolate
Jelly beans
Candy coated chocolate eggs
Marshmallow chicks
Peanut butter
Wax paper
Paper plates (colored plates optional)
Place squares of wax paper onto to individual plates. Put chow mien noodles in a large bowl. If using brick chocolate, break into pieces. Melt chocolate chips or pieces in the microwave, or over low heat on stove, just until melted. Pour melted chocolate over chow mien noodles, mix together to coat. Place mounds of chocolate/chow mien mixture onto several plates (on top of waxed paper). Have children form the mixtures into nests. Be sure the chocolate has cooled, but don't wait too long or it will harden! Using peanut butter as an adhesive, "glue" down the jelly beans and candy coated Chocolate eggs inside the nest cavity. "Glue" marshmallow chick on the edge of or inside of the nest

Stand Up Egg
Place a large spoonful of salt on a counter near a sink. Stand an egg up in the salt. Gently blow the salt away toward the sink. Amazing the egg stays standing!

Coloured Eggs
Materials: water, food colouring, vinegar, bowl
Procedure: Fill a small bowl with water and add ten drops of food colouring. Place a hard-boiled egg in the water for 2 minutes. Take the egg out and look at its colour. Now add three large spoonfuls of vinegar to the bowl. Put the egg back in the bowl for 2 minutes. Look at the colour now. Wow! What a change!

Egg Twirl Test
Can you tell if an egg is hard boiled or raw without cracking its shell? Just spin the egg on its side. A hard boiled egg will spin much better than a raw one.

Egg Carton Fun
Use a plastic egg carton for this activity. Fill each hole 3/4 full with water. Add red food coloring to one hole, blue to another, and yellow to another. Give your child an eye dropper, show them how to use the eye dropper to move the colored water to clear water, notice how the color changes. Let them experiment. For older children, ask them how to make green, purple, brown, and aqua colors
